Metal Research, Inc. has over fifty years of machining and manufacturing experience in North Alabama. We have continuously improved our machinery, technology, and processes to better supply our customers with quality product in a timely manner. We offer our customers 5-axis machining, CNC milling & turning, and an inventory management system to better suit customer needs. MRI also provides experience is welding and fabrication.
Quality
Our employees are skilled in their job duties, and our employees undergo training in areas of company policies, procedures, CNC programming, CAD/CAM, advanced machining techniques, blueprint interpretation, use of inspection equipment, sampling techniques, and overall knowledge of production. Metal Research, Inc. has three CMM’s using PCDmis. There are Wenzel LH1210, Hexagon SK4.5.4, and Hexagon SK7.10.7 plus other inspection equipment to ensure the highest quality. AS9100D with ISO 9001:2015 certified

Metal Research, Inc. has successfully been satisfying the aerospace and defense field since 1964. We pride ourselves in our abilities to develop great quality products in a fast-paced timeline. Our dedication to precision and quality is reflected through our work. We have been servicing aerospace industries, oil and gas companies, defense work, and the automobile industry for over fifty years. We currently have two facilities with 100,000 square foot of manufacturing space at both locations.

Positions Available
CNC Machine Operator
- Proven experience as CNC operator
- Skill in operating CNC machinery and tooling as well as precision measurement tools
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings
- Computer savvy with basic understanding of computer programming and CAD/CAM
- Mechanical aptitude and good math skills
- A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach
- Good communication abilities
- High school diploma or equivalent; certificate or diploma in engineering or relevant discipline is a plus.

Quality Inspector
- Perform quality checks on manufacturing processes and products to ensure they meet established standards and specifications.
- Use specialized equipment such as CMM, calipers, micrometers, and gauges to measure and verify product dimensions and tolerances.
- Document and report any defects or non-conformities discovered during inspection, and work with production staff to resolve any issues.
- Continuously monitor quality control procedures to identify opportunities for improvement, and make recommendations to management.
- Conduct periodic audits of production lines to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and production staff to develop and implement new quality control procedures and testing protocols.
- Stay up-to-date on industry standards and regulations, and ensure that all quality control processes are in line with these guidelines.
- Train new employees on quality control procedures and expectations to ensure consistency in product quality.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to identify and troubleshoot quality issues, and work with other departments to implement solutions.
- Communicate with suppliers and vendors regarding quality control requirements, and help resolve any quality issues that arise throughout the supply chain.
